Here's the catch nobody's talking about.

ChatGPT Plus dropped to ₹999/month for Indian cards this week. The headline is great. The fine print is where it gets interesting — and where most reviewers got it wrong.

The price cut is real. Indian-issued cards now show ₹999/month for ChatGPT Plus, down from ₹1,700. UPI auto-pay rolled out the same day. If you've been on the fence, this is the moment.

But here's what nobody mentioned: the new tier excludes GPT-5 priority access for the first 14 days of each month. You're getting 80% of the product for 60% of the price. For most Indian users — students, freelancers, indie PMs — that's still a great deal. For anyone running production workflows on GPT-5, it's not.
